KILLED BY MOTOR CAR.
EXHUMATION OF BODY. Tho fate of Schnusk, a fox terrier which shared tho harsdships and triumphs of tho J3yrd Antarctic expedition, was revealed at Montclair, New Jersey on June 28, when her body, buried two days previously by tho animal warden, was disinterred and identified by Mr. Ralph Shropshire, hydrograplior with tho Byrd expedition, who had .been caring for the fox terrier at his homo. The dog, which was more accustomed lo penguins and seals than to streot traffic, apparently was killed by a motor car. A policeman notified tho animal warden and took tho leash and collar to tho polieo station. As Mr. Shropshire had advertised extensively the disappearance of Schnusk, he was notified recently of the disposal of tho body. Although ho was in no doubt as to the identity of th<s motorist's victim after seeing tho collar and leash, ho knew that he never could convince her owner, Dick Ericksen, second mate of the City of New York, that Schnusk was dead uut'iss he could produce her body.
