NEW RESEARCH MEMBER. VICE-MARSHAL DOWDING. (Received August 13, 5.45 p.m.) British Wireless. RUGBY, August 12. Air-Vice-Marslial H. C. T. Dowding, commanding the Fighting Area, Air Defence of Britain, has been appointed member of supply and research on the Air Council. He succeeds Air-Marshal Sir John Higgins, who has been placed on the retired list at his own request.
