LEVELLING THt SITE.

» UNEMPLOYED MEN WORK WELL* [BY telegraph.—owx correspondent.] GISBOENE. Wednesday. The levelling of the Gisborne aerodrome site is being proceeded with' as % means of providing relief for the unemployed. The inspection committee of tho Borough Council visited the site, and reported to the council last evening that' there were 57 unemployed men engaged, and every man under the various gangers was working very well. There were also employed on the job a road grader, a, plough, two scoops, a motor lorry and 12 drays. . ■

The engineer and those concerned with the work were to be complimented upon the general lay-out and the thorough oi> ganisation of the 'work.
