ENGLISH COUNTY CRICKET. BOWLERS HELPED BY RAIN. LONDON, August 12. Rain assisted the bowlers in the county cricket matches which ended to-day. The results were as follows: Surrey v. Middlesex.—Surrey: First innings, eight for 419. declared (Sandham 158 not out). Middlesex: First innings, 125 (Cover six for 48); followon, 123 (AHorn five for 43). Surrey won by an innings and 171 runs. Yorkshire v. Derbyshire.—Yorkshire: First innings, 352 (Leyland 185, Mitchell 'five for 92). Derbyshire: First innings, 123 (Verity five for 32); follow-on, four for 129. Yorkshire won on the first inniings. Sussex v. Kent.—Sussex: First innings, nine for 560, declared (Bowlev 135, J. Parks 119, Cook 154). Kent: First innings, 249 (Crawley 74, Woolley 93, Tale four for 65); follow-on, five for 164. Sussex won on the first innings. Warwickshire v. Gloucestershire.—Warwickshire: First innings, 120 (Parker five for 53, Goddard four for 29); second innings, 107 (Parker nine for 44). Gloucestershire: First innings, 201; second innings, none for 29. Gloucestershire won by ten wickets. Leicestershire v.
