RUGBY TEST FEATURED.

An exceptionally wide range of interesting topical and scenic photographs, reproduced in the usual attractive manner, is a feature of the largo pictorial section in the current issue of the Auckland Weekly News, published to-day. The fine frontispiece comprehensively illustrates New Zealands victory in the fourth and finnl test match with, the touring British Rugby football team at Wellington. Another page is also devoted to this memorable game which gave Now Zealand a convincing victory in the test series. Included in these pages are many excellent photographs showing incidents before, during and after the play. Last week's heavy flooding in Christchurch is the subject of the centre double page. Photographs depicting unusual scenes throughout the suburbs when the torrential rain resulted in many homes being isolated are combined to give an excellent idea of the serious nature of the occurrence. The sudden inundation made it necessary for many elderly people and invalids to be taken through the flood waters to places of safety by rescue parties. Two pages show scenes on Mount Egmont and photographs during the funeral of Mr. Lance Gibson, of Stratford, who died from cold and exhaustion when rescuing an injured climbor. Of particular interest to women readers aro a full page of special studio photographs of Wellington debutantes at the Government House ball, and an extremely interesting portrait gallery of worldfamous women in many spheres.
