Two airmen in a monoplane bombed the coalmining area around Providence, Kentucky, whore * strikes have caused the mines to be idle since April. Nine bombs loaded with dynamito and charged with iron slugs were dropped. Only two of the bombs exploded and there wero no casualties, although ono exploded perilously near a group of workmen. Intense 'Excitement followed the visit of the unknown monoplane, which was flown away toward tho north. The crashing of the bombs could be heard for miles and tho outrage threw tho townspeople into a state of uproar.
