ERECTION OF HOARDINGS.

HIDING UNSIGHTLY PLACES. DECISION AT MOUNT EDEN. "There are two or three unsightly places in the borough, and I think these hoardings will hide them until buildings are erected," said Mr. E. H. Potter, Mayor of Mount Eden, at a meeting of the council Jast evening when three permits were granted for the erection of hoardings. Certain conditions were imposed, one of which was that where hoardings were at the corner of two roads they must be kept back 15ft from alignments. Mr. Potter said no hoardings were to be allowed in residential areas. The permits were given at the pleasure of the council, and they could be revoked at any time. Designs had first to bo submitted to the council for approval. It was decided to rescind a previous resolution of the council prohibiting the erection of hoardings in the borough.
