REPRESENTATIVE PLAYERS. TEAM FOR NORTH ISLAND TOUR. THE NORTH AUCKLAND MATCH. Although some of tlio leading players wfero not available, a, strong side has been selected by Mr. G. W. Nicholson, sole selector for the Auckland Rugby Union, to make tho North Island tour. The team will leave Auckland for Wanganu»on Thursday evening and will play tho first match of tho tour against Wanganui next Saturday. However, llaslam could always fill tho centre position if necessary and Weir could play lirst five-eighths, with Jamieson outside kiin. Weir could also bo played at naifback. REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. Congratulations on his appointment bb referee and oil tho manner in which he controlled the fourth test match between Britain and New Zealand, played ot Wellington on Saturday, were extended to Mr. F. E. Sutherland at a meeting of tho Auckland Rugby Referees' Association last evening. Forty members were present, the president, Mr. M. Kronfold, presiding. Messrs. 11. 0. Whito and W. J. Pearce passed their oral examination for membership. Messrs. Fowler and Schnauer wero appointed joint managers of tho team to play tho Kaipara junior representatives on September 6.
