ASSISTING THE RAILWAYS.
NEW PLYMOUTH EMPLOYEES. SUPPORT FOR PATRONS. [BT TELEGRAPH.-—OWN- CORRESPONDENT.] NEW PLYMOUTH. Tuesday. Ihe three organisations of railway servants at New Plymouth, the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, the Enginedrivers and Firemen's Association and the Railway Officers' Institute, have passed the. following resolutions unanimously:—"That in view of the competition with which the Railway Department is meeting, all the local employees are enjoined to patronise those business people who patronise the railways." It was stated that the railwavmen's wages bills in New Plymouth totalled £52,000 a year, and that 90 per cent, of this money was spent in New Plymouth.
