He gives a local anesthetic of an ounce of 2 per cent, novocaine after the X-rays have l.een taken and the fracture charted. Then the limb is put in ft cast arid in a short while the patient is invited to use it. A young woman smiled and chatted with the doctor while lie worked on lior broken ankle. She will return to her wui k as a lypislc to-day.
