RUBBER GROWERS.
LIMITED PRODUCTION PLAN. PROPOSED MINIMUM PRICE. (Received July 2S. 10..m p.m.) LONDON. July 28. The Financial Times says (he AngloDutch Rubber Growers' Committee has asked the British and Dutch Governments immediately to negotiate with a view to arranging a restriction on production combined with the introduction of a minimum price—probably 9d a lb. compared with a lb., tbo present price.
London growers regard 9d as the lowest market price -which the industry can continue to produce lubber. It is estimated that the production in 1931 will be about 950,000 tons and the consumption probablv 759,000 tons.
Dutch growers already have proposed that the production ,should bo cut down to 75 per cent, of that of last year with power to release stocks it' piiccs exceed 9d a lb. for three months.
