COST OF CONCRETE HIGHWAY REVALUATION TO BE MADE. f 15Y TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOfTE. Mondny. The Pukekolic Borough Council met last evening, tho Mayor, Mr. John Routly, presiding. It was decided to support a petition by tho Otahuhu Borough Council and other local bodies to Parliament that retrospective liability lie assumed by tho Main Highways Board toward the cost of the concrete highway from Auckland to Papakura.
Il was decided (o telegraph Mr. ,J. N. Massey, M.P for Franklin, asking him to use all endeavours to have an allocation from tho petrol tax made to boroughs with a population of under 6000.
The borough foreman, Mr. S. J. Clewn. was instructed to proceed forthwith with the laying of turf for the extensive footpath improvement work authorised for (ho present financial year. The Valuation Department wrote advising that the revaluation of the borough would bo put in hand as soon as tho valuer had completed tho work on which ho was engaged.
