PRESENTATIONS.
Residents of Brookby met on Friday ti bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. F. K. Grant, who are leaving tho district after some years' residence. Mr. Grant has done very good work as a schoolmaster at Brookby. In asking Mr. and MrsGrant to accept a handsome clock and supper set as a gift from t he residents, Mr. A. Davis, chairman oi' the School Committee, eulogised t heir work and wished both success with their school a* VVaiotahi Valley. A large gathering of settlers in y lO Matangi district met on Friday at Matangi to bid farewell to Mr. Alan Mc* Millan, who for the past three years h' l3 been in charge of the local railway sta tion and who is now on the eve of trans* fei to the Auckland goods departmen • On behalf of the seitleis Mr. H: church expressed regrets at Mr. Mc-H" bin's departure and presented to him cheque. A collar-box wa? also presen.e to Mr. McMillan, who suitably replied.
