.\t (ho annual meeting of subscribers and residents interested in (lie To Awnntulu Pnli!if.- Library, presided over by Mr. I . 0 Armstrong, strong opposition was ••nirort to the proposal of the Borough Council lo erect the new library building on the Triangle site, near the Plunkel rooms. A decided preference was oxpressed for a sifo at the other end of the Triangle, near tho war memorial. A motion asking the council to alter its decision, even if it entailed further delay, was carried unanimously.
It was also decided to ask the council to have plans drawn of a building that wotdd house the municipal offices, tho library and a town hall. The desire was that the library building could be erected this year as part of the composite, building.
The following were elected the libraiy committee:—Mesdames K. Dawson, \Y Jeffery, W. 11. Davis and S. J. Nobes, Misses Focke, Irwin, Savill, and Messrs L. G. Armstrong, W. D. 11. MeCurdio P. Dawson, W. H. Davis and S. J. Nobes At a subsequent meeting of the commit tee. Mr. Armstrong was elected chairman, Mrs. Dawson treasurer, Mr. McCurdie secretary and Mr. 1). G. McCullutn auditor.
