The visitors gave a poor display, and only in the opening strides did they appear to have a chance of victory, when they attacked with vigour, and several times stormed tho Queensland line. Their tactics, however, were orthodox,
and did not occasion any alarm among the Queenslnnders. At half-timo, through fine kicking by Eckhoff, tho scores were: —Queensland, 8 points; New Zealand, 6. Three goals were kicked hv Eckhoff.
In the second half, the Queenslanders j overwhelmed their opponents, and scored almost at will. Tho New Zealandcrs were unable to cope with their delightfully free passing and scintillating unorthodox movements. Tho visitors made ft final effort toward the end of the game, but found the defence too strong. The New Zealandcrs individually tackled effectively, but were too frequently out of position.
