FALSE REPRESENTATIONS.

SIX CHARGES ADMITTED. Six charges of obtaining £7 17s 6<l by false representations were admitted by Mary Hodgson, aged 42, cook, in the Police Court yesterday, before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M. Accused was charged with obtaining the money by pretending sho had lost her handbag.

Chicf-Detective Hammond said accused was employed at Awanui North about 12 months ago. She had come to town and had been drinking. She had a long list of previous convictions. " This will put her away for eight months," said the magistrate, in sentencing accused to four months' imprisonment 011 each of the first two charges, the terms to be cumulative. Accused was convicted and discharged on tho other charges.
