DEFEAT OF ITALIANS. AMERICA TO MEET FRANCE. PARIS, July 20. The last two singles matches in the Davis Cup contest America v. Italy were played to-day. Lot I (America) defeated Stct'ani (Italy), 6—3, 6—l, 6—3; do M«rpurgo (Italy) heat Allison (America). 7—5, 6—2, 5—7, (>—4. America thus won tho rubber by four matches to one and will meet France in the challenge round for the cup.
