CORNISH ASSOCIATION.
SOCIAL EVENING. i A complimentary social evening was I given by the Auckland Cornish Association in honour of Mr. Roy Jennings, the, I Cornish member of the British Rugby | team, in Unity Hall, Queen Street, on ! Saturday. There, were about 300 Cornish j people present, and a very enjoyable | evening was spent. Musical items were j given by Miss M. anil Miss K. Kendall, I Messrs. Fort, R. Errington and .1. Rose, ! and sketches by members of the Treniaine I family. Jn reply to a telegram of greeting from the Auckland Cornish Associa- ! lion to tho Duke of Cornwall on the j occasion of the visit by the British foot- | bailers to Auckland, tho president, Mr. I if. W. Corks, received a message of ; acknowledgment and thanks for the greetings, which His Royal Highness much api predated. Mr. .J. Rowe, a former All | Jilack, who arrived in New Zealand ; n'veral years ago, was present at. the gath--1 cring. Other guests included : —Mrs. W. Hughes, Mrs. Horton, Mrs. Lovo Nattier, Mrs. C. dames, Mrs. Stenlake, Mrs. W. H. Webber, Mrs. R. Jackson, Mrs. K. Howies. .Miss I\. Maloy, Miss Thorne, : Miss M. Kendall.
