NEW LYRIC THEATRE.
REOPENING TO-MORROW. Tlio Lyric Theatre, Upper Symonds Street, which lias been closed for about three months during its transition from a "silent" to a "talking" house, will bo reopened to-morrow evening. An army of workers has been engaged on tho alterations and the interior of the theatre has been redesigned in accordance with the latest ideas. Seating accommodation has been provided for no fewer than 1480 people. Modern "talkie" apparatus has been installed and with its splendid acoustic properties tho theatre should attract a capacity number of patrons. Tho Lyric Theatre was 0110 of the pioneer pic-ture-houses in Auckland and has always been popular with picture-goers. Tho thcatro is being conducted by Messrs. Prentice Brothers, Limited.
The programme for to-morrow evening has been carefully selected and should make a wide appeal. The principal attraction will bo "Slightly Scarlet," an absorbing Paramount society drama, in which tho principals are Evelyn Brent and Clivo Brook. Tho subordinate features will includo an amusing "Mickey the Mouse" cartoon and an excellent comedy. Thero will also bo a variety of entertaining musical and singing numbers.
