LADIES' HOCKEY.

VISITORS ENTERTAINED. Members and officers of all t lic teams taking part in the Auckland Provincial Cup hockey tourney were the guests of Messrs. Milno and Ghoyco at morning tea in the Tudor Tea Room last week. Tlio whole of tho upper end of the room, which was set asido for the guests, numbering about 250, was artistically decorated with shields bearing tho jinnies of the respective teams, with tho colours of each hung 111 large loops, surmounted by loops of the local association's colours (blue and white), and pairs of crossed hockey sticks. The beautiful flowers — irises, Iceland poppies and golden yellow jonquils—with which the, tables were arranged. still further added to the brightness of the room.

There wero present members of all tho teams (16), as well as their chaperones and managers, tho officers of tho local Ladies' Association, representatives of the Y.W.G.A., tho Auckland Hockey Association, Auckland Hockey Referees' Association, arid Auckland Girls' Athletic Association. Air. L. 0. Kent, president of tho association, welcomed the visitors. Mr. Wykes, of the North Wairoa Association, replying on behalf of the visiting teams, expressed the visitors' thanks for all that Mr. Milne had done in making their stay 111 Auckland a pleasant one. A vote of thanks to Messrs. Millie and Choyce was given whole heartedly by all present. In the evening a social gathering was held in the, Y.W.C.A. lounge. Games and competitions with the addition of several musical items, provided enjoyable entertainment. The, programme had been arranged by Mrs. Muson and Miss M. Fryer Rai'sher, and assisting with it, wero Misses D. Eddowes, M. and 11. Matthews. M. Farland and E. Coleman. Competitions wero won by Misses Hell, Nellis, Meiklejohn and M. Matthews. The supper arrangements were carried out by members of the. Auckland teams.
