THE SPIRIT WORLD.

AGED WOMAN'S STORY.

AWAKENED EVERY MORNING

It is a strange story that comes from Annccy, in France, telling of an 85-vear-oltl woman who has written from dictation by a "spirit" every morning since 1927. It seems that the dictation is done so quickly that the old woman experiences difficulty in keeping pace with the dictator.

According to the octogenarian, the spirit is that of a doctor whose acquaintance she mado in France 60 years ago. One day the doctor appeared to her in the street and vanished and since then ho has awakened her every morning to dictate to her. Ho begins his work very early—five o'clock—and dictates for an hour.

The matter dictated lias a literary flavour. There are poetical descriptions of the summer breeze, birds, (lowers, and butterflies. A glowing passago smacks of Rochefoucauld. It deals with the relationship of inan and woman. Woman in likened to a rose and man In a ro.e tree "The rose lives by tlio tree. The l.reo envelops the rose with its love and constant protection, and gives it life. In return the rose gives to the tree its beauty, perfume, and transmits life to the fruit that it produces. It is tlio same with iiiuii and woman."
