ANOTHER GRAFTON BRIDGE.
Sir.—With regard to a new bridge ovir the Grafton gully connecting East Streetwit h Carlton Gore Road, the tally of traffic at the Grafton Bridge. Karangahape Road junction published oa I*nday more than justifies the claims set out in my letter in. the same Of this huge total. 1 venture to say one. third came from Upper Queen "Street and Newton and from l'onsonby and Grey Lynn. All these vehicles, as f pointed out before, could at rush hours bij diverted from Graf'.on Bridge through Belgium Street to East Street and over tlie new bridge. Tho proposed Stanley Street route would not relieve the position and most motorists would avoid tlie sleep grade of Giafton Road. J n any case, with tlie present steady increase i'u population and traffic, both of the abo-.v schemes will be given effect to throu-h dire necessity Therefore, let us put into effect first the one which will beyond "a 1! question give the greatest immediate re ' Foresight.
