CHRJSTCBUKCH. Sunday
Advice has been received in Christchurch that there is every prospect of a yacht race across tlio Tasman Sea in the coming summer. The race will probably tako placo between Melbourne and a North Island port. After the yacht Oimara won the race across Bass Strait from Mclbourno to Tasmania a few months ago, her skipper, Mr. J. Bennell, issued a challenge to allcomers to race to New Zealand. It is now stated that a number of fishermen at Inverloch, Gippsland, havo accepted the challenge. Tentative arrangements for the race provide for its taking placo about Christmas.
