FLYING WITHOUT PILOTS.
A complete squadron of Yickers-Napier night bombing aeroplanes has now been equipped with a "robot" electrical pilot designed by the F>rih<ll Air Ministry experts. This squadron has been encaged on a series of long-distance night iiiglns and the "robot" pilots havo on several occasions taken complete charge 01 the machines, flying them continuously tor nmch as 400 miles and bringing them exactly to a predetermined destination without the controls being touched b} human pilots. Routes from the south of England ,to Scotland havo been followed with the automatic pilots in comp.ete charre. Tiie "robot" device consists of electrical apparatus which can bo controlled from the ground .by wireless .. ibilitv is obtained by meM) of gyroscopes.
