TO MAKE WATER TRAVEL UPHILL.
i Take a tin with a tight-fitting lid and pierce a hole in the lid big enough for a bent glass or any kind of tube, circumference about and Sin. long at the least. Fill the tin with water and put the tube in the hole of the lid and put the lid on tight. Then put the tin in a basin, :so as not to make a mess on the floor, and put your mouth to the tube and draw the water up the tube for about three seconds to start the water coming up the tubo into tho basia, and then it will go ay itself until the tin of water is empty. —From Fred Harrisson, 44, Rosebank j Road, Avoudale, Auckland. 6 marks.
