FARMERS' UNION.
AUCKLAND BRANCH FORMED. A meeting of Auckland farmers yesterday decided to form an Auckland and suburban branch of the. New Zealand Farmers' Union. Mr. A. A. Ross prosided. Tho election of oflicers was deferred to ft later meeting, wlien it is hoped to have a more representative attendance. The city milk supply was discussed and a commitfeo was set up to investigate the matter. It was stated that the huge number of milk suppliers with small runs in tho city made it impossible for tho farmer to receive an adequate return. Jhe present system of tho inspection of dairies was also criticised. The question of derating farm lands was discussed but no motion was passed. A resolution opposing daylight saving was passed.
