MARRIED WOMAN'S FATE.

FOUND DEAD AT HOME. MOTOR FATALITY RECALLED. [Br TELEGRAPH. —I'BESS ASSOCIATION.] CHEISTCHURCH. Sunday. A motoring fatality which occurred in February, 1929, was recalled by the discovery yesterday of the body of Mrs. Isabel Mabel Stanley, aged 43, which I was found in a gas-filled room at her home at Iticcarton. Mrs. Stanley was the driver of a car which knocked down and killed Mr. Stephen James Johnson, of Te Kopuru, Dargavillc. As a result of the accident in which Mrs. Stanley was involved, Mr, Johnson was killed and Mr. Edward Albert Boldcro, of Takapuna, was injured. The two men wero knocked down in Belfast Street, Christchurch. Mrs. Stanley was subsequently found guilty in tho Supreme Court of negligent driving. Sho was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within 12 months and was disqualified from holding a driver's licence for tho whole term of her life. The Judge said he was satisfied that Mrs. Stanley was a woman of unblemished reputation and that- her conduct, apart from that most deplorable incident, had been blameless. Counsel for Mrs. Stanley said his client suffered keenly from the knowledgo of her position She had suffered a considerable amount of punishment, inflicted by herself, and apart from any direction the Court might make would never drive a car again.
