MOTOR-CAR WRECKED.
COLLISION WITH LIGHT POLE. DRIVER'S NARROW ESCAPE. Thrown from its course by the, bursting of a tyre, a two-seater motor-car crashed into an electric light standard in Albert Road, Takapuna, at 7.30 p.m. On Saturday, and was wrecked almost beyond repair. Tho driver, Mr. Charles Oldbury, of Devonport, had a miraculous escape from death, escaping with scratches. The motor-car was travelling along Albert load in tho direction of Takapuna, when a back tyre burst, causing the car to plungo across the road, where, fit collided with the electric light standard. Tho pole, an iron one, was slightly damaged, but no interference was caused in the supply of power. Mr. Oldbury was the only occupant of tho car.
