AUSTRALIAN BUTTER.
OUTPUT !N THE STATES. The output of butter in Victoria during the second week in Juno amounted to 8962 boxes, a decrease of 640 boxes on the previous week. Cold but dry conditions in tho dairying districts largely, accounted for the decline. The Argus of Juno 14 says;—" The slight, incrcar-e in the Western district cannot make. up . for the falling off in Gippsland. Consequently, although tho demand is at present slow, it does not seem likely that Victoria can remain independent of outside supplies. Butter production in Queensland has fallen off a little, but tho output of cheese is stationary with, a tendency to increase. Production continues to decrease in New South Wales. Production in Western Australia is still increasing owing to the continuance of general rains and mild weather. In Tasmania, however, production is negligible. Largo importations are still necessary in South Australia, where the output is low."
