AUCKLANDER'S DEATH.
BUYER FOR CITY FIRM. ACCIDENT IN LONDON. Cabled advice deceived in Auckland states that Miss Mary- lone McGregor, a buyer for Smith and Caughey, Limited, died in London last week as a result of a fall. There are no details of the accident. Miss McGregor, who was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. K. . McGregor, formerly of Grafton Road, was 40 years of age, and had been employed for a number of years in the mantle department of Smith and Caughey, Limited. She left for England on her first buying trip at the end of January last, and was to have sailed for New Zealand by the Rangitikei this week. She had previously visited England on holiday. Miss McGregor was regarded -by ■ her principals and the trade generally as ..an extremely capable buyer possessing unusual gifts, and her judgment was' highly valued. She was an enthusiastic worker in the Sunday school, choir and other activities cf St. i David's Presbyterian Church, of which her father is an older. Mr. and Mrs. McGregor left Auckland last year, and are believed to be at Marton.
