NO AUTHORITY FOR CUTTING. NATIVE LAND COURT CASE. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE KUITJ. Tuesday. Judgment has been given in the Native Land Court at To Kuiti by Mr. C. E. MacCormick, Judge, in respect of a claim by owners of a block of land at Rangitoto against David Ormsby and Ngapawa Ngaamo, iiis wife, of Otorohanga, for damages for posts cut from tho block without licence or authority. Defendants admitted cutting the posts, but stated that it was done through a mistake as to the block boundary. The Court found that about 1700 posts and 25 strainers had been cut and gavo judgment for tho claimants for £lO9 10s damages with £l4 14s costs.
