MAN WITH REVOLVER.

EFFORT TO SEE POLICE CHIEF,

SEIZED BY A DETECTIVE.

A man from whose pocket protruded tho butt of "a pistol endeavoured to gain an interview with the New South Wales Commissioner of Police, Mr. Childs, in Sydney recently. Ho was seized and disarmed by the chief of the detectives, Air.' Mackay. , - •

Ho was able to prove that lie had a licence to carry a revolver, and, when asked .what he meant by saying that he had an unpleasant duty to perform, ho replied that he had meant thab the subject of his interview was unpleasant. The stranger was medically examined, and the doctor reported that tho man appeared to be rational. He was allowed to go free, but his revolver was confiscated.
