SYDNEY'S LORD MAYOR.
POST FOR MR. E. S. MARKS. POLITICIAN AND SPORTSMAN. (Received Juno 23, 11.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 23. If. is announced that Mr. E. S. Murks is to be the now Lord Mayor of Sydney.
Mr. E- S. Marks is Nationalist member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly for North Sydney, and is managing director of a firm of wool buyers. He vm born at West MaiLland, New South Wales, in 1872 and educated at lloyston College,' Sydney. Ho was a member of the last Sydney City Council representing the Lang ward and vice-chairman of ihe Health Committee. Mr. Marks was delegate for Australia at the Olympic Games at Stockholm and a member of the international jury for (he games. He has been on tho council of the New South Wales Swimming Association for 30 years and acted as chairman for 15 years, lie founded (he New South Wales Sports Club.
