STORMY ON WEST COAST.
HARBOURS UNWORKABLE.
ROUGH SEAS ON BARS.
SEVERAL VESSELS DELAYED.
The boisterous westerly weather, which has prevailed since Saturday morning, is delaying a number of vessels which are bar-bound in harbours on the West Coast. The Hauturu left Onehunga for New Plymouth on Saturday afternoon but she was unable to cross the Manukau bar. After being delayed at the heads until yesterday afternoon she returned to Onehunga last evening and the trip was abandoned. The vessel is now to sail tomorrow, resuming her time-table. The Ronaki left Onehunga for Raglau and Kawhia at five o'clock last evening and she anchored at the heads to await a favourable opportunity to cros3 the bar. The Arapawa is delayed at Ivaipara and the Hokianga at Hokiangtv. Both vessels have been bar-bound since Sunday and are waiting to leave for Onehunga. The Kaimanawa has been bar-bound at Westport since Saturday waiting to sail for New Plymouth and Auckland. The Kaituna and Karma, both loaded for Auckland, are bar-bound at Greymouth. The shallowness of the Greymouth bar is one of the causes of the bar being unworkable for outward bound vessels. The Ivanna and a number of other vessels have been delayed at Greymouth for two weeks and during that period all the other bars on the west coast have been workable. This is the second time in the last few months that the Kanna has been barbound at Greymouth for a prolonged period. She left Greymouth for Auckland on May 31 after being barbound for 16 days.
