MELANESIAN MISSION.
v ASSISTANCE IN WORK* BISHOP MOLYNEUX IN ENGLAND, [FROM OUR OWN COERSSrOKDENT.] LONDON, May 16. Iho Bishop of Melanesia benefited greatly in health from the voyage to England, via S'uez, by the Otranto. He is now staying at Martyr Worthy Rectory, Win* Chester. In a letter which he has addressed to readers of the Southern Cross Log the bishop says that while ho is in the Mother; Country he will visit many parts to speak and preach about his diocese. From the number of requests that hjve already reached him he feats that he will not bo able to accept anything like all the invitations that ,have been extended. He thanks all those who during the past year have, in addition to their regular subscriptions, made such a splendid contribution to the reduction of the mission's debt. It was most cheering on arrival at Southampton to be told that it was all but extinguished. Bishop Molyneux announces that he has some priests offering for the diocese and ready to go out this year and he asks: "Will you make it possible for me to accept them without getting (lie mission into dobt again ? a few noblehearted individuals or parishes who will 'adopt' a priest—that is, become responsible for tho salary of a priest, £l5O a year V Mrs. Corner has handed over for the Medical Mission the sum of £74, proceeds of the annual sale held at Bournemouth, supplemented by donations. The Church of St. Paul, Southsea, has undertaken to support a bed in the hospital at Fauabu, making the tenth bed "adopted" in England.
