The five-year-old son of Mr. C. M. C. Going, of Maromaku. 29 miles from Whangarei, was drowned in a flooded creek yesterday afternoon. When the accident occurred the child was playing near the creek, which runs close to Mr. Going's home, with several younger children. The children did not raise the alarm for a considerable time.

A search party discovered the body today in about Bft. of water a quarter of a milo below the scene of the accident.
