At. a meeting of tho To Awamutu Fire Board this week it was decided to ask tho Borough Council to adopt tho model by-laws prepared by tho Government dealing with fire escapes, and also to press for payment of firemen on duty at places of entertainment.
It was decided that fuller details bo obtained of an efficient and inexpensive electric firo alarm system. Foreman -A. Wilkes was promoted to the rank of deputy-suporintendent.
