SUSPENSION OF LICENCE

A charge of being intoxicated -while in charge of a motor-car was preferred against Allan Nelson Auld, salesman, aged 31, in tlio Wellington Police Court yesterday. Accused was fined £lO and his licence was suspended until May 31, 1931. Sub-Inspector Lopdell said accused was seen standing by a motor-car in Tory Street. He was under the influence of liquor. He got into the car and was about to drive away. Accused asked that his licence be not endorsed, as it meant his livelihood. Sub-Inspector Lopdell said those people who did not realise their responsibilities when they took a drink and drove a car should not be allowed to have a licence at aIL
