PRESENTATIONS.

A farewell gathering to Mr. J. Leslie, who has been transferred to Auckland from Mercer, where for the past two years he has l-sen stationmaster, was given by the residents aind railway employees of Mercer last week. Mr. A. J. Bourne presided over a large attendance. In making a presentation to Mr. Leslie of a dining-room clock and a shaving outfit, Mr. Boarno expressed the regret of the _ residents of Mercer that he was leaving. Several toasts were honoured, and a musical programme was given. A presentation was made to the Rev. Father James Molloy, parish priest at Pukekoho, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his admission to the priesthood, which fell last Wednesday. Father Molloy was entertained at a, social, at which Mi\ J. Kennelly, who presided, presented him with a cheque as a token of tho esteem of his parishioners. Bishop Liston was present, and the visiting clergy included Monsignor Cahill, of Onehunga, Dean Brennan, of Northcote, Father Ardagh,- of Dunedin, Father Henley, of Invercargill, Father Bennett, of St. Benedict's, Auckland, Father Eccleton, of Tuakau, Father Duffy, of Papakura, and Father Kirrane, of Cambridge. Other friends of Father Molloy were present from many parts of the province. A farewell social and presentation was tendered to Mr. J. Parker, chairman of the Raglan Town Board, on Friday evening. Mr. Parker has been a - resident of Raglan for about 15 years, and chairman of the Town Board for about 13 years. He has also been a member of the Raglan County Council for several years. Mr. A. G. Kirkwood, who presided, referred to the good work done by their guest, and asked him to accept a presentation for himself and one for Miss R. Parker. Messrs. J. M. Thompson and A. L. Pegler, members of the Town Board, and Messrs. Cushman, A. R. Langley and S. JRawlinson also expressed their regrets at Mr. Parker's departure. A farewell social was tendered to the Rev. E. C Hetherington and Mrs. Hetherington at Tauranga at the weekend. On, behalf of the parishioners, Mr. E. A. Entwistle presented a substantial cheque to Mr. Hetherington, and the Rev. A. F. Hall and other speakers made appreciative reference to Mr. Hetherington's helpful work in the parish. Mr. and Mrs. Hetherington and family are taking up residence at Rotorua.
