DARING THEFT IN DAYLIGHT
CLOTHES TAKEN FROM HOTEL. THREE MONTHS' HARD LABOUR. Sentence of three rnonLlis' imprisonment with hard labour was passed on Alfred George Fellow, aged 25, a seaman, who. appeared in the Police Court yost.or.day 011 a charge of stealing a suitcase and clothing to tho valuo of £2O in "Wellington on.May 17. Mr. Atkins entered a plea of guilty for accused. Chief-Detectivo. Hammond said accused went into a Wellington hotel in daylight to see a friend. He then entered another room, changed into a now suit, of clothes, and packed another suit and other clothing into a suitcase, with which ho left tho hotel. Ho was evidently a clever thief. Mr. Atkins said .accused had not bpcin in troublo before. Ho was drunk at the time'and did not know what ho was doing. In sending accused to prison, the magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, rofused a plea for probation.
