Nunc orat hie. If you, tho County Fathors, in kind power Would give the word to workmen within call, They could repair these drains within the hour And earn the blessing of the townland nil. Gentlemen, your purdon, this is my effort's end, I kneel within your shadow, Petitioning 1 bend. Melted by this effort, the chairman of the County Council, Sir Basil Brooke, M.P„ directed that the matter be deferred to the surveyor, adding: "He will provide a poet laureate."
