LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
TOUR OF AUSTRALIA. GREGORY APPOINTED CAPTAIN. The New Zealand team to tour Australia will leaVe Wellington on Friday next, the northern members leaving Auckland on Wednesday. C. E. Gregory, Auckland, has been appointed captain of the team, and A. Eckhoff, Otago, vicecaplain. Gregory is well known throughout the Dominion, and is captain of tho Marist senior team. Ho represented Auckland at Rugby in 1923 and "was a member of the 1925 New Zealand team which toured Australia. Eckhoff is also n well-known player and captained the South Island thirteen this season.
Mr. E. K. Aslier, Auckland, a member of tho New Zealand selection cornjnittee, has resigned. A meeting of tlio .New Zealand liugby League passed a volo vi thanks to Mr. Aslier for his services.
