THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE. MODERATE VOLUME OF BUSINESS. A moderate volume of business was transacted on tho Auckland Sloclc Exchange yesterday. There were prico fluctuations, particularly in regard to Australian securities. The demand for all lax-frco Government investments continued, and 5i per cent, bonds woro also sought without attracting a selling quotalion. A sale was inado of Inscribed Stock, 1930, 4A per cent., at tho unchanged, prico of £9O ss. In 4ho local body group Tamaki Road Boards, 1963, per cent., had sale at par. In banks prico movements were somewhat erratic. Australasias had salo 5s better at £l2 lis. Nationals of Australasia also appreciated in value, being done at £ls 6s 6d, an improvement of 6d. Commercials of Australia relapsed a further 3d to sell at 21s 9d. New Zealands, ex dividend, were wanted at 57s 9d, compared with tho cum div. quotation of 59s 3d, and sellers asked 58s 3d, u fall of Is. New South Wales were a little stronger than on the previous day. A substantial advance was shown by .New Zealand Insurances with salo at 47s 3d, compared with 445.-. Qd when tho last local salo was mado 011 May 29. At tho final call sellers were quoting 47s 6d. Offers for South British advanced 6d to 59s 6d. In coal Renowns woro dealt in at 14s, a fall of Is. In tho industrial group British Tobaccos showed further weakness, being done 6d cheaper at 39s 6d. A salo lato on Thursday of Colonial Sugars at tho unchanged prico of £42 10s was reported. A further transaction was recorded yesterday at £42 ss. In 'tho mining section Mount Lyells wero active. Two lots changed hands at 275, a fall of 7d, but in a further salo recovery was mado to 27s 6d.
