NEW COUNCIL ELECTED. REFORM PARTY'S MAJORITY. SYDNEY, Juno 19. Tho Roform Party won nirio of tho 15 seats on tho new City Council at yesterday's election. Labour candidates securing tho other six. The Reformers, therefore, will govern Sydney for tho next two and a-half years.

Independents fared badly in all tho wards. Mr. S. Walder, vice-captain of the Reform Party, a member of the last City Council, will probably be the new Lord Mavor.

Mr. J. S. Garden, secretary nf the Trade and Labour Council, was elected, but he polled 1000 fewer votes than his fellow Labour candidate, Mr. T. Shannon, in tho same ward.
