TOUR BY FARMERS.
VISIT TO SOUTH ISLAND,
STUDY OF CONDITIONS.

With the object of gaining an insight into the agricultural conditions of the South Island, a party of fanners from Poverty Bay, Hawke's Bay, the Wairarapa and Manawatu will leave Wellington on Saturday evening by the Maori. Their itinerary is comprehensive, and embraces all the important farming districts between Christchurch and Dunedin.
Visits will also be paid to the Lincoln Agricultural College and the Kawarau dam. ' The tour mil occupy 17 days and has been arranged by the Railway Department, in conjunction with tha Farmers' Union.
Another party of farmers from North Auckland will begin a tour of the North Island next Tuesday.
