week-end weather* HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. Tho following weather forecast for 48 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. 11. M. Vincent last evening:— The general outlook indicates unsettled weather, with rain in most districts, particularly in northern and east coast areas. Variable and moderate winds, easterly to north-easterly prevailing, and slowly backing by north to west. Rough seas on the east coast, particularly northward from East Cape; smooth to moderato seas on tho west coast. Local outlook: Unsettled, with intermittent rain, but fine intervals intervening. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —A slight anticyclone is still centred east of New Zealand. Still another cyclone is located in the Tasman Sea and will probably move across northern New Zealand during tonight. Indications are for moderate to strong easterly to northerly winds north of New Plymouth and East Cape, elsewhero light to moderato north-easterly to northerly winds. Seas still rather rough north of East Cape, elsewhere smooth to moderato. North-easterly to northerly winds in tho eastern Tasman Sea, fresh in tho northern portion, with rather rough seas, elsewhere moderate, with smooth to moderate seas. The weather will bo still unsettled north of Auckland and in the East Cape and Gisborne districts, with soino rain and at places heavy falls. Elsewhere, fair to fine, but unsettled conditions extending southwards. A cold night, with somo frosts and fogs. RAINFALL RECORD.
