MR. THOMAS' EFFORTS.
DEVELOPMENT OF TRADE.
COMING EMPIRE EXHIBITION.
British Wireless. RUGBY, May 20. In the House of Commons to-day Mr. J. If. Thomas, Minister in Charge of Unemployment, stated that as a result of his discussions with representatives of the association of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, lie was confident that a real co-operative effort was being made by that industry to develop trade. It had been decided that the industry should take steps to organise a representative exhibit of British motor products at the British Empire Trade Exhibition to be held at Buenos Aires next year. The South African Government had placed in England an order for 46,000 tons of steel rails and various permanent way accessories.
