THREE MEN IN COURT.

MAGISTRATE IMPOSES FINE

Three stowaways on thp Makura from Sydney who were brought beforo the Court last week, appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., for sentence yesterday. They were John Griffiths Chamberlain, aged 26, Joseph William Ivo Davis, aged 24, and William Keogh, aged 28. Sub-Inspector Shanahan said inquiries made by the police had revealed nothing against'the accused, who seemed to be respectable young men. They were fined £7 each, in default seven days' imprisonment.
