"Although it is only two years since powers to run road services wero conferred on British railways, they have already expended £7,50 C,OOO on road transport, ancl are now part-owners of 14,000 out of 35.000 largo passengercarrying vehicles. The are interested in road Services Which carry 561,000,000 passengers a year. Practically every village is now connected with the railway system.
