A plucky rescue from drowning of a six-year-old boy, Jack Cruickshank, of Wellington, was made by Miss Edna Thorpe, aged 19, of 205, Ponsonby Road, at Stanley Bay on Sunday afternoon. The boy, whose parents were visiting Auckland, was fishing oS tho ead of Stanley Bay jetty with a young brother, when ho fell into tho water.
